Trevor has carried out residential and commercial construction building work throughout the Mt barker Council District. During this time my colleague and I have inspected Trevor’s work at various stages in our capacity as Authorised Building Officers. We both found that his work was thorough, neat and structurally sound. His performance clearly reflects his wide understanding of building practices , Australian Standards and BCA. He has the capacity to resolve difficulties that arise during the construction stages. Trevor’s documentation in presenting Development Act applications to Council is always clear and concise.

Trev, as I said to you when we inspected the vacant block, I would not consider building a home if i did not know you. After 10yrs of doing all my projects, you have again proven to be professional and a perfectionist. Thanks also to Daniel and the great tradesmen you organized for me.

Hi, What a stunning surprise when I came home! I was completely unprepared for the impact that the change to space would have on me. I was blown away by the sense of space, openness and connection to the outside. The change that occurred as a result of your work was just stunning. Even though it is what I had been planning for in the many small decisions we had made along the way, to actually experience the space was beyond my expectations. We greatly appreciate the work you and the team you lead are doing, from the quality of building craft, to your consideration of our living in the building site, the tolerance of the dynamic nature of the design process and thoughtful and very considerate approach to the reality of building costs.

As a home owner for more than 35 years, I have had various experiences with builders, many of whom have not put a smile on my face. Then along came Trevor…. he was like a breath of fresh air. He did what he said he was going to, in the time frame he set at a cost that was fair…..and with a smile on his face, making the whole exercise a very pleasant one. I wish that we had met sooner!

Trevor’s costing for our project was fair & honest but what we appreciated more was very accurate. In his projections of cost he quoted, displayed & allowed for variables & where able we were refunded money for materials/contingencies not used – when does this ever happen? We knew exactly what we were required to pay for & when & what outlays we were required to fund ourselves

During the preliminaries of our planning & during our build Trevor’s communication was really exceptional. He frequently would ring us in the evening to discuss our building requirements (ie our building wish list) & challenges re council approval (particularly with septic tank requirements/alterations). He always documented them thoroughly via email to keep us & him aware of what was discussed & said. We were always kept informed & in the loop by phone, email or SMS as to what was going on & what was the next step we/he needed to proceed with. No question was too little or too big for him to answer, often taking the extra time to explain the building process to novices like ourselves. He thrived on building abnormalities, (e.g. access to our property was extremely steep for access & delivery of materials) looking at these as not hindrances but as always solvable challenges which I think he rather enjoyed! He was always, & I mean always one step ahead of the building process always looking towards the next completion stage of the build, informing us when, who, why & how long it would take. He said our build would take 3½ to 4 months to complete – it took 4 months to the day to finish.

Trevor & his son Daniel worked hard when they were here & were extremely (& I mean extremely) meticulous in their tidiness which rubbed off on his recommended trades. Trevor set the “bar high” and all his contracted trades (draftsman, excavator, concreter, bricklayer, roofer, gyprocker, tilers, electrician, painter, cabinet maker) working on our extensions knew this and we would often hear them say “I just want to go over this one more time so it will pass Trevor’s inspection!”

I never once was concerned leaving anyone in the house unattended/or leaving a key when we were not present in our house. The integrity of those on the build was second to none.

Throughout our build I never heard any raised voices, arguments or animosity amongst anyone. On the contrary it was just one big happy worksite filled with good vibes, chatter, music & laughter. It was actually a joy having everyone around & we were so surprised that the extension seemed to go quickly and smoothly something we never expected in a million years to happen but it did! This was largely due to Trevor who wears his heart on his sleeve & relishes the chance to build & converse with his clients & complete a job that he & they can be proud of. We certainly are proud of what Trevor & his son & trades have achieved. They have given us a new master bedroom, ensuite, WIR/storage & bedroom conversion to a childrens’ living room; keeping with the original 1980’s style of the home. (A mean feat when many bricks, windows, lights, architraves were no longer available in the style from that era.) We have proudly & excitedly shown our extensions to others and absolutely love the extra space and functionality the rooms provide.

We admire Trevor for his honesty, caring and humorous nature & consider Trevor more than just a builder but a friend that we have made. We already miss his presence around our home but look forward to him returning for future projects. I think that in itself says enough in recommendation that we want him back & would not consider looking anywhere else for another builder!

We are very pleased with the excellent work that Morton Construction did for us at Walker Flat holiday home. Our board walk and jetty looking fantastic. Great work in a very professional and timely manner. We can highly recommend Trevor and his team for there workman ship.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value. I used Morton Construction to do the preparation for a large kitchen restoration. I needed a wall removed and involved having structural work in the roof. Trevor organized the engineering report, sourced the replacement beam and installed it. A new window was installed and gyprock to new framework. During this time Trevor kept me informed of costs involved and the time-frame to complete the work. He always turned up on time. Both he and his son Daniel were extremely courteous at all times. I have no hesitation in recommending them for any general building work.

I cannot thank you enough for the fantastic extension and other jobs you have done for me around my home. Over the last 5yrs I have stressed about do I stay and renovate or should I leave. Yes, I have been totally overwhelmed! Since Having Trevor here and step me through the process in the beginning really eased my mind and set me up to take the chance. Throughout the build, Trevor's support, guidance and ability to talk to me in non-builders terms has been invaluable. I never believed the build would not only look as good as it does but enable my home to feel totally finished. The standard is so much better than I ever anticipated. Thankyou again so much, I'm finally realizing I now have a new master suite with my own loo and a Taj-mahal of a dressing room.
